The best masking instruction is a marked drawing, not a sentence in an email. Identify threaded holes, PEM hardware, sliding slots, ground contact pads, weld tabs, bearing surfaces, labels, and cosmetic no-mark areas. If the part is measured after coating, say which dimensions include coating thickness and which must remain metal-to-metal.<\/p>\n

Control edge buildup and appearance<\/h2>\n

Stamped edges, louvers, corners, and narrow slots can collect coating differently than broad flat surfaces. Burrs, sharp edges, oil residue, and media dust can also affect coverage. Ask whether deburring, cleaning, phosphating, blasting, or pretreatment is included before coating.<\/p>\n
